At 6:30 on a Tuesday evening, runners meet at PV on the corner of Tatum and Cactus for a free group run with the Phoenix Run Club. It's open to every pace, and it happens every week. Earlier that morning, about two miles south at Tatum and Shea, the Paris Baguette at 10625 N. Tatum may already have sold its first trays of potato twists.
Those two corners mark the ends of the stretch this post covers. If you live in Sheaborhood, you know Shea Boulevard as the road you take to get somewhere else. This fall, Tatum between Shea and Cactus has enough going on every week that you can plan the whole week around it. The part to plan around is the standing weekly schedule, because the list of announced openings has been unreliable all year.
The Shea end picked up two daily stops this year
The south end of the stretch got two new businesses in 2026. Sweetgreen opened at 10810 N. Tatum Blvd., Suite 105B, right at the Tatum and Shea corner. Phoenix New Times covered the opening in late May and called it the chain's third Valley location.
Paris Baguette came next, at 10625 N. Tatum Blvd., 125B. It was serving customers by early September. A customer review dated September 7 on the bakery's location page describes it as a new location and says everything is baked fresh each day and sells out fast, with the potato twists going first.
With those two openings, the Shea end of Tatum now has a morning stop and a midday stop that weren't there a year ago, which gives you a reason to start heading north on Tatum instead of out to the freeway.
The Cactus end is where the evenings happen
At the north end sits PV, the redevelopment of the former Paradise Valley Mall, on the neighborhood's northeast edge at Tatum and Cactus. By early April, Phoenix New Times counted 11 dining tenants already open there.
| Spot | Address on that list |
|---|---|
| Velvet Taco | 12646 N. Tatum Blvd. #105 |
| Federal Pizza | 12636 N. Tatum Blvd. |
| Wren House Brewing | 12650 N. Tatum Blvd. #106 |
| The Melt | 12650 N. Tatum Blvd. #100 |
| Flower Child | 12640 N. Tatum Blvd. |
| Blanco Reserva | 12750 N. Tatum Blvd. |
| Trevor's | 12820 N. Tatum Blvd. |
| Whole Foods | 12500 N. Tatum Blvd. |
| Frost Gelato | 4568 E. Cactus Rd. |
| Hawaiian Bros. | 4520 E. Cactus Rd. |
| Mission BBQ | 4518 E. Cactus Rd. |
Harry & Izzy's joined them in August at 12770 N. Tatum Blvd. PHOENIX magazine listed it in the August openings roundup as an Indianapolis-based steakhouse serving lunch and dinner. House specialties include a Berkshire pork chop and sweet tea fried chicken.
A dozen restaurants on one site gives you options. The weekly specials and events are what turn those options into a plan you can repeat.
The week, laid out
PV's events calendar lists the standing deals and the free run. Add the Shea-end stops and the stretch covers every day of the week:
| When | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Any morning, early | Fresh-baked pastries, before the potato twists run out | Paris Baguette, 10625 N. Tatum |
| Mondays | Backdoor Chicken for $20: a whole rotisserie chicken, queso, guac, corn pico, six tortillas, chips and hot sauces | Velvet Taco at PV |
| Every day | Two scratch-made tacos and a fountain drink for $10 | Velvet Taco at PV |
| Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. | RUN PV, a free community run with the Phoenix Run Club | PV |
| During October | The Agave Voodoo, a new cocktail with añejo and reposado tequila, velvet falernum and cinnamon | Blanco at PV |
| Friday, October 30, 5 to 8:30 p.m. | Boo Bash | The Park at PV, 12740 N. Tatum |
Monday's chicken deal comes with enough sides to cover dinner for a household, and the Tuesday run costs nothing. PV's calendar bills Blanco's cocktail as an October feature, so the window for trying it is the rest of this month.
Boo Bash is booked on a lawn that's being reseeded
Boo Bash is the one item on the calendar with a question mark. According to PV's event listing, it runs Friday, October 30, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Trick-or-treating is from 5 to 6, and an outdoor screening of Hocus Pocus on the lawn follows from 6:30 to 8:30.
The lawn in question belongs to The Park at PV, at 12740 N. Tatum, and the park's directory page lists it as "Temporarily Closed for Reseeding." The page gives no reopening date. The event page still shows Boo Bash happening on that lawn. If your kids are counting on the movie, check PV's listing the week of the event before you bring blankets.
What's still a sign on Tatum
The weekly schedule matters because so many openings at PV keep moving. Each of these has been announced, and none has a confirmed opening date:
- The Vig. Phoenix New Times listed it as anticipated in 2026, and its April update pointed to late summer. PV's own map still showed it as "Coming Soon" in August.
- Lululemon. KTAR forecast a summer opening in April. In mid-July, the Arizona Republic described it as near opening. Its PV directory profile lists 4520 E. Cactus Road and no date.
- Ander Market. This is a women's lifestyle boutique from owner Megan Stefanowitz. The Phoenix Independent reported it would open in October. In September, its PV profile still read "Coming Soon."
- Face Foundrié, Zara Nail Bar and NextHealth. All three were still marked "Coming Soon" on PV's directory in August and September.
- Cala and Too Sweet Cakes. Phoenix New Times reported in April that both had moved to 2027.
- Helios Pilates, Escapology, Culinary Gangster and OBON. KTAR listed these for 2027 or gave no opening date.
When a tenant on this list opens, it adds to the week. Until then, the weekly schedule above is the part of Tatum you can rely on.
Getting there while two road projects wrap up
Two road projects affect how you get to Tatum this fall. The City of Phoenix's North 32nd Street safety project covers 32nd Street from Cheryl Drive to Cholla Street. Work began July 7, 2025, the next phase was set to start the week of June 29, 2026, and completion is expected in spring 2027.
On the freeway, ADOT's SR 51 pavement rehabilitation between I-10 and Shea began in March 2026 and is expected to finish in late fall. ADOT posts its closure dates on that project page. Until the last overnight closures are done, check there before a Friday night drive home from the south.
